Guru event: “Mobile Games Night” at The Old School Yard with ‘my kind of phone’ – The Lowdown!
All we are saying, is give Qype a chance…
How was it? I hear you ask, considering the tube strike, glorious weather and England pulling a helping of World Cup second round progression out of the bag. Well I am overjoyed to report that our night at The Old School Yard was about as good as good gets, without transgressing any laws or moral codes that is.
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Mickael Perron
The folks from ‘my kind of phone’ were all there bright and early, we set up downstairs in the pleasantly airy basement and then as we awaited our guests, set about quaffing some of Mickael Perron’s amazing array of cocktails. Fresh, flavour-packed and as fruity as Danny La Rue. His own personal cocktail corner, as well as being stocked to the brim with every possible ingredient you can imagine, is awash with enough vintage curious knicks and knacks to keep David Dickinson going for decades.
The whole venue is immense, with a team of welcoming and friendly staff and an owner that excels as a host. So, we mingled in the back garden and scoffed a juicy selection of burgers and hot dogs from the BBQ, then headed downstairs to let the gaming begin. As well as the classic and retro games, a rather hotly contested Windows Phone competition kicked off; here is the eventual winner…
The sign of a good night is not just the size of the crowd, but how long they linger. Last night our guests lingered long. And gamed hard.
BREAKING NEWS: Just in from the ‘my kind of phone’ fellas: “we’re giving away a Windows Phone goodie bag to one of our guests from last night. All you need to do is post a link to your photos, video, blog post, Qype review or anything you snapped in during the evening. At 5pm today, we’ll pick one of the comments at random and they will win the goodie bag” LOOK HERE!!!
