Blogger Interview: Kirsty from Fashion Champagne
Carrying on with our series of interviews with fashion bloggers, we chatted to Kirsty from Fashion Champagne.
Can you tell Qypers who you are and what you do?
I’m Kirsty – recently turned 25! EEEEK! I work in publishing and occassionally do a bit of freelance.
What prompted you to start your blog, and what elements do you think have contributed to it becoming so popular?
I started my blog, just over a year ago, after seeing a piece in ASOS mag about bloggers and I had no idea what a blog was! I quickly became hooked and decided to start my own. I now update five days a week and regularly comment on other blogs so that I get FashionChampagne’s name out there. I have readers ALL over the world and I love chatting to new people. I think the world of blogging right now really has no limits.
Who’s your fashion icon? Best designer you saw at London Fashion Week? And the worst?
Oh that’s a hard one, I take my inspiration from so many different places that I don’t think I actually have one…….Next question! Paul Costelloe was my fave at London Fashion Week namely because it was the first show I went to – so I was in awe and it just stuck in my head. Worst? I couldn’t possible say that. At one show I was standing at the back and being 5ft 3 I saw nothing, so that could have been the worst, but the music was good. Next season I’m wearing stilts.
What are your favourite places in London to visit when you need a new outfit?
Ah the fail safe Topshop. I really am a Topshop girl. It depends what mood I’m in. Oxford Street would be the obvious. Great finds at Camden Market and Brick Lane also, can’t forget Notting Hill.
Where do the fashionistas of London hang out and where do you get the best snaps?
Anywhere with cupcakes! I spend a lot of time in Brighton or in the country! I snap when and where I can but sometimes I’m just far too embarrassed, so its left to my bedroom and a timer – so glam.
Can you tell us your trend predictions for next season?
Leather and lots of dark hues – Gothic Glam – oh imaginative!
Give us one place which you think every Londoner should have in their ‘Little black book of hidden gems’.
I would like people to tell me this. I’m so impatient I go to the same places all the time, I spent last night drinking in Carnaby Street – Where though? I couldn’t tell you…
